Reality check

After two weeks of work, I've been surprised at how exhausted I am. I know that it's to be expected while I settle into the new routine but I seriously think that if I'm going to survive this working and parenting gig (especially when Mel starts travelling again which will be SOON) I need to make some healthy lifestyle changes. Since starting work, I've had hardly any time to exercise, I come home and have a couple of glasses of wine to relax, then wake up in the morning and need a strong coffee to kickstart my day... and another one when I get to work... I rarely get an unbroken night's sleep which doesn't help but there isn't much that I can do about that for now. And apart from my general lack of energy and vitality, my jeans are getting tighter. Needless to say, tight jeans make mummy grumpy.

SO... today I weighed and measured myself and resolved to break some bad habits and start some good ones. I am going to post my vitals here *gasp* to keep me honest because I think I need some accountability and I'm buggered if I'm going to pay for a Life Coach when I AM ONE!!! :) I have also stuck a chart to the back of the pantry door where I can keep a daily track of my habits. Nothing like a tick chart to keep you honest. I've decided I'm going to record:

  • Exercise
  • Water
  • Alcohol
  • Coffee and
  • Vitamins

  • And I'm pleased to report it's working already. As soon as I took my weight and measurements this morning and almost died from shock I was all "Right-ho! I'm off to the gym then!!!" when I was totally going to blow it off and sit in the sun instead. *blush*

So here's where I am, at week one:

    Weight: 68.3kg
    Bust: 94cm (37")
    Waist: 79cm (31")
    Hips: 96.5cm (38")

Goal #1 is to get that first number back down to like 65kg where it should be. And in doing that, it would be nice if I lost an inch or so of my waist and hips. Of course, just my luck it'll come straight off my boobs. Doesn't it always?! Anyway, I'm motivated..... for now......
